The EastBay Institute will become a source of education for both the community and the builders. From information concerning our natural habitat to insights about saving energy and maintaining a healthy, sustainable environment, The EastBay Institute will help keep us all in the know and up-to-date with advancing trends.
Residents of EastBay and the surrounding community will have access to speccial seminars and local experts who will provide pertinent information about the environmental challenges that are currently taking place here in northwest Florida and beyond.
Educational programs for children will provide a foundation for the future of our community - and our world - by teaching them about ecology, wildlife habitats, new energy sources and sustainable living.
The EastBay Institute will become one of Florida's primary resources for information about new building sciences, based in large part on our association with Leadership in Energy & Environment Design (LEED).
The U.S. Green Building Council established the first standards for the LEED Green Building Rating System in 2000, making it the framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals. Certification is generally voluntary, but required or under consideration as a requirement for certain buildings in many U.S. localities.
At EastBay, LEED standards are essential to the vision and future of our town, and The EastBay Institute will provide builders with information to help them understand our objectives and help us create a community that is healthy, efficient and attractive.
